Personality:
Generally, she is a very optimistic girl and enjoys being around people. She doesn't like to be upset or get mad about anything, instead she tries to smile and take things in stride. Larissa can be flirty at most times, and sometimes without even realizing it. She enjoys attention, sometimes being affectionately noted as an 'attention whore' by her friends. The name-calling is only playful because she tries to allow others to have their spotlight as well.
She has a deep passion for the art of dance, not going one day without practicing or moving along to some sort of beat. Larissa has a talent for any form of dance and enjoys ballroom dancing in the tango, but however has been doing ballet for much longer. Clubbing is her one of her favourite pastimes when she can't be in a studio, even street dancing satisfies her need to move. She automatically starts to move when there is a beat, whether it is just her feet swaying or head nodding to the music.
Although Larissa may not look it, she is a hardcore geek. Comic books, fantasy novels, Star Trek series, you name it and she most likely knows a thing or two about it. Her favourite Sci-Fi thing is Star Trek, which then spawned her email address through a few jokes about her sharing a last name with a certain engineer. Not many would realize that she knows so much about something that is so pointless to most, but if it ever were brought up in a conversation she would spout facts or correct people out of habit.
History:
When Larissa Scott was 6 years old, she realized that she loved to dance. Her mother had been a ballerina from Arabia before she became pregnant and even though her father was the farthest thing from a dancer, he enjoyed watching people dance. She had been born after the Arabian woman and Scottish man had moved to live together in the United States. They were well off, with Tamara's well-earned money and Cameron's hard work on the oilrigs. Tamara had already been living in Chicago, and Cameron moved from his native Scotland.
After watching her mother dance, Larissa pleaded to be enrolled in ballet. Her parents warned her that it was going to be hard for a long time, but she merely nodded and tried to get around their legs and into the studio. The girl soon learned that doing ballet meant blisters and sores until her feet could take no more. But still she pushed on with all of her now 7-year-old determination. She was stubborn to a fault and never gave up or skipped practice.
On one occasion, the little girl managed to convince her mother to dance with her. Her mother wore her black practice outfit whereas Larissa wore her pink tutu. They danced to an easy pace, with the girl stumbling slightly here and there and Tamara flowing with years of practice. Little did they know, a certain Scottish father was taking pictures of every moment. It would become one of her most cherished memories.
Just as Larissa was easing into her talent, a terrible accident befell her mother. On her way home from her own practice, a drunken driver T-Boned her car and instantly killed the woman. The funeral was not but a few days later when everything was prepared. It was a heartbreaking moment with a 7 and a half-year old girl clinging to her father's hand as he spoke of his "bonny lass" and how wonderful she was.
She started to become depressed, although not many could tell that she was with her fierceness for her dancing. Larissa ate enough to keep her small body sustained and rarely asked for anything from her dad. For the next few years, she would eat, sleep and dance along with attending elementary school. Cameron was the same way until one of his friends snapped him out of it and made him attempt some sort of relationship with his daughter.
Larissa was 11 when her dad attended his first dance recital, and it was just enough to become a daddy's girl. She lightened up and began to become healthier in all aspects, emotionally and physically. Her father gave her the best picture that had emerged from the one time that she and her mother danced together, and she framed it to take wherever she went.
It was the start of grade six that she really started to make friends, in her dance classes and in school. And so her life proceeded, her father somehow was managing to make enough money for the two of them to survive and for her to continue lessons. But then the layoffs came and Cameron was forced to find a new job, one that paid less and Larissa was forced to quit ballet in the middle of junior high to get her own job.
But still she danced at home, and danced on the street and danced as often as she could possibly could. It was also then that she started to have an obsession over all things geek. When she could spoil herself with a bit of extra money, Larissa would buy a comic book here and there or just watch the old Star Trek series on the television.
By the time that high school came around, she had knowledge of everything from Batman to Captain Kirk and she was proud of it. The sci-fi stuff intrigued her and it was fun to watch or read.
Larissa did her best to focus on school, knowing that it would be best if she could graduate college to get a better job. She managed to get enough money by working as a waitress that she picked up dancing again as well, both ballet and ballroom here and there when she could make it to the studios.
Attending the Chicago Institute of Academics and Arts seemed like the most reasonable thing to do when she applied for scholarships. She didn't have to move far away from her father, who still occasionally needed some help, and it was cheaper for her. Larissa found a bartending job at a popular club and was happy to do it. She was able to dance and serve drinks, creating a show of it to make bigger tips without being half-naked.
Her choice of a major, surprisingly enough, is theatre because she likes the combination of singing and dancing in Broadway plays. She chose to minor in the sciences just in case she needed something to fall back onto.
With her move, she brought her cat along with her that she had recently gotten not more than a year ago and she also bought her dog when she realized that she could afford it and house it. Both of them she fell in love with at first sight, and both actually get along with each other as if they are each other's species.
